Save Money Washing Your Comforter!

Did you know it is recommended to wash your comforter every 3 months? AND you can save an average of $15 per wash going to a Laundromat vs. dry cleaning plus you don't have to worry about those harsh chemicals on your skin.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Quarters or Cash (for the change machine)
  • Detergent
  • Fabric Softener (optional)
  • Tennis Balls (optional)

Step 1: Make sure you have quarters and choose the front-loader that will best fit your comforter size which depends on the size and fluffiness. You don't want to use a top-loader.

Step 2: Place your comforter inside the machine, close the door, pour detergent in the specified location to the fill line (be careful not to put too much), fill fabric softener to the fill line (this is optional), select water temperature (refer to your comforter tag instructions, safest option is cool water), and insert the quarters based on the price located on the front of the machine (watch the countdown).

Step 3: Sit back, relax, and wash your car while you wait!

Step 4: Our machines run 3 rinse cycles, so it should get all the soap out. Remove your comforter and transfer it to a front-load dryer.

Step 5: Close the door to the dryer, insert quarters for 18 minute dry time to start, and select heat temperature (refer to comforter tag for heat recommendation). Check it after 14 minutes and determine additional amount needed to complete dry cycle. Keep in mind the last 4 minutes of dry cycle is tumble/cool down, so you'll want to maximize your money and time with more than 4 minutes to go and inserting additional quarters to extend the dry time.

Step 6: Remove your comforter and treat yourself to a nice meal with the money you saved!
